This Hand Dyed Yarn uses 100% Bluefaced Leicester superwash wool from sheep in the British Isles bought from the British Wool Marketing Board. The Bluefaced Leicester sheep breed is well known for producing some of the finest British yarns - it's wonderfully soft (26 micron) and has a characteristic lustre or silkiness, making it wonderful to work with.
BFL superwash DK is made with 100% superwashed BFL wool. This means the fibres have been specially treated before being spun to enable it to be machine washable, therefore it will not ‘felt’ when washed. It is a great easy-care yarn.
Superwash Merino DK is a lovely standard DK weight yarn made from 100% superwashed merino meaning that the fibres have been specially treated before being spun to enable it to be machine washable, therefore will not ‘felt’ when dyed or washed. It is a great yarn for an easy-care garment. The merino is 21 micron and therefore very soft and not at all itchy or scratchy next to the skin. With a 4/9nm construction the yarn has lovely stitch definition and can be readily used in any pattern using a standard DK weight yarn.
The merino is 100% animal fibre and is mulesing free.
A stunning blend of Suri alpaca, Merino and a little nylon to bind the yarn. The meterage is 130m (142 yds) per 50g. Super soft with a delicate airy halo and an altogether heavenly look that is irresistible in sweaters, scarves and wraps. Knits up beautifully on a wide range of needle sizes from simple garters to open work lace. A fine quality Hand Dyed Yarn.
